Fashion watchers continue to keep a close eye on Kate's clothing choices today, as the royal couple attends several events in northern Canada.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge began Day 6 of their Canadian Royal Visit at the Somba K'e Civic Plaza in Yellowknife. While Prince William wore a dark suit, Kate showed off her small frame in a form-fitting Birger dress with drop earrings by Kiki McDonough, a matching clutch and L.K. Bennett nude pumps.

The dress

Kate’s three-quarter sleeve ‘Bullet’ dress is by Danish designer Malene Birger. The cream knee-length outfit, with strong shoulders, is cinched at the waist in a contrast waistband in olive green. Once again, Kate opted for a soft look by wearing her hair loose in soft waves.

The designer

MTV Europe crowned Danish Malene Birger the ‘Queen of Fashion in Copenhagen’ and Wear Global magazine has nominated her as one of the world’s finest in terms of design and décor.

Since February 2003, Birger has been running her own fashion company ‘By Malene Birger.’

So far on the royal tour, Kate's fashion choices have reflected the regions she and Prince William were in and the events they have attended. There was the fascinator with maple leaves on Canada Day and the nautical-themed ensemble by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen in P.E.I.

The fashion show so far

“I've always loved Danishes for dessert and Kate just reaffirmed why,” says Angela Smith, fashion commentator for Entertainment Tonight Canada. “Today's look is a casual-sweetness that we haven’t really seen yet. The look might be lacking color, lace and pizzazz but it's still deliciously form-fitted and frosts her figure with a perfectly tailored dress.”

Still, Smith says she is waiting to see Kate in a different look: “Perhaps some pants or a jumper?”

Wardrobe change

As the couple boarded a float plane to Blachford Lake Lodge, the Royal Highness opted for a more casual ensemble with a pair of dark skin-tight jeans, an olive coloured safari shirt and her cream and white Sebago Bela flats.

The royals met with Dechinta University students, elders and members of the Rangers, a largely aboriginal reserve of the Canadian Forces. The final event was a canoe ride to an island in the lake, with William in the lead, Kate paddling in the middle and their guide guiding from the rear.
