Day 7 of Royal Visit: What Kate Middleton wore today
On what was supposed to be a day off for Prince William and Kate, the newlyweds headed off to Slave Lake, Alberta on Day 7 of their Canadian Royal Tour. The surprise visit was announced Tuesday by officials who said the couple wanted to see the town and meet rescue workers and families who lost everything when a wildfire swept through the town in May.
The dress/outfit
While the Duke of Cambridge went tie-less in a dark suit jacket and jeans, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a ruffle-front blouse and her navy Smythe blazer—the same one she wore as she boarded London’s Heathrow Airport to fly to Canada. Once again, Kate wore her much-loved Pied a Terre Imperia shoes, recycled her dark J Crew loose trousers and accessorized her outfit with a brown Linda Camm belt.
The designer
Started in 2004, Toronto-based company Smythe Les Vestes creates wardrobe pieces that are both modern and emotional.
Co-founders Andrea Lenczner and Christie Smythe were thrilled to learn Kate wore their blazer to kick-off her Canadian Royal Visit.
"We design with a woman like Catherine Middleton in mind: tailored and effortlessly chic. Needless to say we are delighted that Her Royal Highness has included Smythe in her first visit to Canada."
The blazer, which is sold exclusively in Canada at Holt Renfrew, goes for a 'mere' $550 and instantaneously became the most sought-after jacket.
All eyes continue to be on Kate and her wardrobe choices. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge began Day 6 of their Canadian Royal Visit at the Somba K'e Civic Plaza in Yellowknife. While Prince William wore a dark suit, Kate showed off her small frame in a form-fitting Birger dress with drop earrings by Kiki McDonough, a matching clutch and L.K. Bennett nude pumps.
