Raw video: Kleman interrogation
RCMP have now released interrogation video of Ross Edward Kleman and investigators on the walking trail where 14-year-old Emily Stauffer was killed. The video released by RCMP was nearly an hour in length. It contains footage of Kleman talking about what he did and felt the day Emily Stauffer died. What we have uploaded to our website is raw, with only the parts where Kleman and the officer are walking silently in the woods edited out. An Alberta man who killed a pastor's daughter in a vicious attack on a popular walking trail was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday with no possibility of parole for 18 years.
Ross Edward Kleman, 45, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the death of Emily Stauffer, 14. Despite several police interviews and psychological assessments, he has offered no explanation for his crime.
The volunteer preacher and municipal employee attacked, choked, and cut Emily's throat on Sept. 27, 2008. The devout Christian teenager was enjoying one of her favourite activities on the sunny afternoon, walking through the wooded trails that run north of Edson, Alta., a town of 8,000 people about 200 kilometres west of Edmonton.
