Apartment fire in south Edmonton
Fire broke out on the roof of an apartment near Whyte Avenue on Friday.

Fire crews were called to a fire at an apartment in south Edmonton on Friday.
The fire began on the roof of a three-story walkup at Whyte Avenue and 99th Street around 6:00 in the evening, but was quickly contained by firefighters.
Crews had the blaze extinguished by 6:20.
The smoke from the fire could be seen from several kilometres away.
