Friends have identified the victim of a Thursday morning crash on Anthony Henday Drive as 22-year-old Mathew.

Mathew's family has asked his last name not be made public at this time.

Police say the 22-year-old died at the scene after his small car collided with a grader on Anthony Henday.

The crash happened on the southern leg of Anthony Henday eastbound between 111 Street and 91 Street.

Mathew was the only person in the vehicle.

Weather is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

Friends say Mathew was a member of a local car community called 780tuners.

Members of the club have organized a vigil Friday evening which will start on Whyte Avenue and finish at the scene of the crash.
