The man accused of driving a van into a school in St. Paul is set to appear in court Monday.

46-year-old Richard Edward Benson is facing several charges, after the van he is believed to have been driving crashed into Racette Junior High School, Thursday morning.

Several students were pinned underneath the van. One student, 11-year-old Megan Wolitski, died from her injuries. Two other young girls remain in hospital.

Benson is facing 3 counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, 1 count of resisting arrest, and 1 count of possession of a controlled substance. There is a chance those charges could be upgraded because one of the victims died.

Global News will be in St. Paul on Monday, to bring you the latest on this case.
