Truck believed to be involved in Killam shootings located

EDMONTON - A vehicle matching the description of the one involved in a shooting incident in Killam, Alberta has been located by RCMP.

The black 2000 Chevrolet, Silverado with Alberta plate UZE 545 was located in a farm yard 10 km southeast of Killam.

Inside the vehicle was an unloaded .50 calibre sniper rifle.

Investigators did not find any ammunition inside the vehicle, but a police dog located a loaded .50 calibre magazine near the vehicle.

According to RCMP, a .50 calibre sniper rifle has a maximum range of 6,800 metres (6.8 km) and a maximum effective range of 1,800 metres (1.8 km).

Two officers were injured in the shooting near Killam, and another person was killed.

Sawyer Clarke Robison, 27, has been arrested and charged in connection with the case.

RCMP are thanking the public for their assistance in locating the truck.
