EDMONTON - 19 year-old Akeem Smith Seruhungo has been charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of a 17 year-old on December 15th last year.
Police were called to the area of Picard Drive in the Lewis Estates area that night and found the 17 year-old laying injured on the ground. Shortly after, the teen died of what was determined to be a gunshot wound, becoming Edmonton's 45th homicide of 2011.
Seruhungo's charges come three and a half months after a 16-year-old man, and 18 year-old Steven Boldt were charged with the same crime.
