According to the autopsy, the 17 year-old died of a gunshot wound. He was found lying on the ground in the area of Picard Drive when police arrived just after 11 pm this past Wednesday. The boy succombed to his injuries several hours later.

Homicide detectives are still hoping for any witnesses of the incident to come forward. If you have any information that could help police, you're asked to call 780-423-4567 or if you'd like to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers, at 1-800-222-8477.

The accused's name will not be released since he is a young offender.
