With a news conference scheduled for Wednesday morning, the Edmonton Oilers are expected to name Ralph Krueger as their new head coach.

Sources close to the team say Krueger will become the 10th head coach of the hockey club, following the release of Tom Renney on May 17th.

The 52 year old is currently the teams associate coach, a position he has held for the past two seasons. He stepped in as head coach for a few games last season, when Renney suffered a concussion after taking a puck to the head.

Prior to his position with the Oilers, Krueger most recently held the head coach position with the Swiss National Team.

The announcement is set to be made at 9am Wednesday.
