Police have now released a sketch of the suspect wanted in a series of assaults in the Whyte avenue area over the past two months.
Since mid-March, there have been seven attacks on women.
In each case the man approaches the woman from behind while she is alone and pushes her to the ground. Police have said they are concerned because the assaults appear to be getting more violent.
The suspect is described as being between 5’4” and 6’ tall, about 150 pounds with a slim build.
He was wearing blue jeans, and a white, grey or black hoodie.
In a release, Detective Rob Chan of the Edmonton Police Service says the sketch “has been created with the evidence we have collected thus far. I encourage anyone with information about the identity of this person to come forward to police. Small details that you think may be insignificant could actually be very helpful in our investigation.”
The victims range in age from 20 to 60 years old and the attacks have taken place on the following dates:
• March 18 – 3 a.m. in the area of 84 Avenue and 107 Street
• March 20 – 11:30 p.m. in the area of 81 Avenue and 87 Street
• March 28 – 10 p.m. in the area of 81 Avenue and 85 Street
