Police have issued a warning after two women were randomly attacked over the past ten days.

The latest assault happened Wednesday night as a 31 year old woman was walking down 82 Avenue at 84 Street. A man approached her from behind and tried to push her to the ground. She screamed and that attacker ran off.

She was not physically hurt.

A similar incident occurred Tuesday, March 20 when a 57 year old woman was pushed to the ground in the area of 82 Avenue and 87 Street. She screamed and the suspect ran off before hurting her.

The similarity of the two attacks has prompted police to issue a warning.

“We are sending this warning because we are very concerned about these two random assaults,” Detective Dale Myhre says in a news release, “We want to remind all citizens to be extra vigilant while walking at night, to be aware of their surroundings at all times and to report suspicious persons or activity to police immediately.”

The suspect is described as between 5’6” and 6’ tall and about 150 pounds. He is wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

“Although this is a very limited description, we are hopeful that someone saw what happened or possibly saw a suspect and they can identify him,” says Myhre.
