Bylaw officers have impounded two dogs believed responsible for a vicious attack on a Calgary woman.
However, new information suggests the attack may not have happened at a school yard along Abbeydale Drive, as the victim first claimed.
Global News has learned charges are expected against the owner.
The exact location of the attack isn't being released while the investigation continues.
Since the attack on Sunday, Animal Services has patrolled the area trying to find the dogs.
However, they haven't been able to speak with the victim because she's still in hospital recovering from very serious injuries.
The 35-year-old woman has reportedly undergone multiple surgeries, after being bit in the leg and face.
Animal Services says it's very important they remove the dogs, so no one else gets hurt.
“If a dog escalates to that type of aggression, he will go there again and probably more serious, if it's not checked and corrected. So whoever the owner is, needs to know that behavior is not normal for a dog,” says Bill Bruce, Animal and Bylaw Services.
A dangerous dog hearing will now be scheduled. Bylaw Officers won't confirm what breeds the dogs are.
