Police investigating discovery of body

Investigators from the homicide section of the Edmonton Police Service are currently investigating the discovery of human remains in southeast Edmonton.

The body was found near Ellerslie Road and 17 Street SW by a person walking in the area on Monday evening.

Police say it is standard proceedure for the homicide unit to be involved when a body is found. The death is still under investigation.

Anyone with information about the death or who may have seen suspicious activity in the area is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567. Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers by callin 1-800-222-TIPS or online.
