Half the proceeds from funny man Tracy Morgan’s show in Edmonton Saturday will go to a very serious cause — helping with disaster relief in Slave Lake.

Funny Farm Comedy Show spokesman and promoter Dan Quinn lives in Vancouver now but grew up in Edmonton and says the decision to donate to the Red Cross was a no-brainer. “People step up for disasters that happen in other countries all the time, and this is a pretty big disaster that’s happened right in our own province,” says Quinn, who’ll also be performing standup at the show.

When it comes to the show’s headliner, meanwhile, there’s Tracy Morgan the standup comedian and then there’s Tracy Jordan the unpredictable, erratically behaved star of the fictional show TGS with Tracy Jordan on TV’s hit comedy 30 Rock, playing opposite Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.

It’s hard to know where one Tracy ends and the other begins.

The live-on-stage Tracy Edmontonians will get to see perform in this one-night-only show is bound to be suitably profane and irreverent, not to mention R-rated.

And funny, of course. Always funny.
