EDMONTON - Homicide investigators and forensics teams were at a remote field in Edmonton’s west end on Wednesday night where two bodies were found.

Police were called to the scene west of Winterburn Road just south of Stony Plain Road at about 5:20 p.m. A man had discovered two bodies. He had been driving down a clay road on a quad when he made the find, police said in a release. Police are not releasing ages or genders.

A sign at the field identifies the owner of the property as Melcor Developments.

The scene is near a wooded area where police found skeletal remains of 27-year-old Jutta Bentz last August, after nearly a decade. Police did not suspect foul play in that case.

If these deaths are deemed homicides, they would be the 17th and 18th of the year.
