Northern Alberta man charged with murder after human remains found

EDMONTON - A man has been charged with murder after police discovered human remains in northern Alberta.

Trevor Bobocel, 38, of Wandering River, AB, was charged Saturday with second degree murder and offering an indignity to the body of his common-law wife Roxanne Bigelow, 34.

Bobocel was arrested near a burning vehicle in a rural area near Lac La Biche Friday morning, said RCMP spokesman Sgt. Tim Taniguchi. Human remains believed to be Bigelow were discovered at the scene, though a positive identification can’t be determined until an autopsy is finished.

Bobocel will appear in Lac La Biche Provincial Court on March 14 on the charges.
