One man in custody in Lac La Biche homicide

EDMONTON - RCMP have one person in custody in connection with a homicide near Lac La Biche.

About 8 a.m. Friday, Lac La Biche RCMP responded to reports of a suspicious occurrence at a rural location about 210 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, RCMP spokesman Sgt. Tim Taniguchi said.

Police discovered what’s believed to be human remains. A man was arrested but has not yet been charged.

“The remains are believed to be human, but we can’t confirm that without further investigation,” Taniguchi said.

The remains will be sent to the medical examiners office.
