EDMONTON - Environment Canada has issued weather warnings for most of west-central Alberta, with many regions expecting between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow.
The warnings include Jasper, Hinton, Rocky Mountain House, Drayton Valley and Pigeon Lake, Westlock, Spruce Grove and Morinville.
Most of the snow is expected to arrive Sunday morning before tapering off early in the afternoon.
Edmonton is also being hit with more snow Sunday after three millimetres of precipitation fell Saturday.
The day’s high is forecast to reach -11 C as 200 pieces of equipment — graders, plows and trucks — continue to clear city roads.
Laura McNabb, spokeswoman for Edmonton transportation operations, said city officials will be discuss Sunday the seasonal parking ban, which remains in effect on neighbourhood bus routes until it’s removed.
Cars left in areas with parking bans will be ticketed and towed so crews can properly clear the streets.
A media availability is scheduled for Monday morning, when officials will update how many tickets were given out over the weekend. As of Friday afternoon, bylaw enforcement officers had written 357 tickets.
