RCMP are investigating after a man and woman were found dead inside a rural home south east of Spruce Grove early Friday afternoon. The bodies were discovered by a friend.
Police are not sure of the ages, and are not releasing their names until they've been identified by a Medical Examiner.
One neighbour tells Global news the man who's lived in the home for several years owned a honey business, and is believed to have recently gone through a divorce. Police are not saying whether the man and woman who were discovered Friday were residents of the home, though. They're also not revealing the cause of their deaths at this time.
"We're not sure how the deaths occurred, or we can't say for sure yet until the medical examiner has seen them. We can say for sure it's not natural causes," says Cst. Barb Roy.
Autopsies have been scheduled for Monday. In the meantime, the bodies have been removed from the home and the investigation continues, with police interviewing family, friends and neighbours.
"Our forensic unit is in the house right now continuing to take exhibits and gather information about what happened...we'll be holding the scene until Monday when the autopsies are finished," Cst Roy adds.
While the deaths are being treated as suspicious, investigators are not looking for any suspects. Nearby residents have also been told they shouldn't fear for their safety.
