EDMONTON - A man is in hospital following an early morning shooting in our city.

Just after 6 a.m. Saturday morning, police were called to a weapons complaint in north-east Edmonton near 153 Avenue and Manning Drive. Officers say they arrived to find a man in his 30s suffering from a gun shot wound.

The man was taken to hospital in stable condition, where he remains.

Police aren't releasing many details, but say they are looking for a vehicle that may have been involved.

"There appeared that there was a vehicle involved but at this point we're not sure the involvement, if the complainant had come to the scene in a vehicle or if he was on foot," said Acting Sgt. Mark Vanvelzen.

Police have not yet released a description of the vehicle, nor do they have any suspects in custody at this time. They have interviewed some witnesses who live nearby, and continue to investigate the incident.
