EDMONTON - Police are searching for witnesses after a Good Samaritan was struck and killed on the Anthony Henday after stopping to help another driver change a flat tire.
The incident happened on June 13, 2012 on Anthony Henday southbound near 62nd avenue just before 11:30 pm.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the man was lying dead on the side of the road. The vehicle that had hit him fled the scene of the collision.
"Any additional information motorists might have that were travelling along the Henday near 62 Avenue that fateful Wednesday evening, could be invaluable to our investigation," said Const. Martin McKenna, of the EPS Collision Investigation Squad.
The driver of a Porsche Cayenne that is believed to be the vehicle in question turned himself into police 24-hours after the incident, but officers say he has been uncooperative since that time.
