EDMONTON - The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT)'s northern Internet Child Exploitation unit (ICE) has charged an Edmonton man with four counts of luring following an online investigation.

An integrated team of Edmonton Police Service (EPS) and RCMP members, called ICE north, executed a search warrant at an Edmonton residence on January 10. The team took the man into custody without incident and seized computer equipment and electronic storage devices from the home.

Michael Graff, 29, of Edmonton, is now facing charges of luring to commit sexual interference, luring to commit invitation to sexual touching, luring to commit indecent exposure, and an additional count of luring related to child pornography.

During the investigation, officers learned Graff is a physician in Edmonton.

The team continues with the investigation; examining the seized equipment and devices.

Graff made his first court appearance on January 11. Police say he is not in custody but must follow a number of conditions, including not having contact with any child under the age of 16 unless a parent or guardian is present.

ICE investigates the sexual exploitation of children through the internet and works to reduce harm through public education and prevention programs. Visit http://www.alert-ab.ca/childexploitation for tips on how youth can stay safe online.
