Soldier vanishes during river valley training run
The search is on for a soldier who vanished while on a training run in the river valley on Thursday morning.
A group of soldiers were participating in the training exercises on Thursday morning, which included a 10 km run.
Master Cpl. Richard Curnow, 25, vanished during the run.
Other members of the group began to search for the missing soldier, and EPS and the fire department were contacted.
"He's a very intelligent soldier, very level headed, extremely fit fellow, so obviously this causes us concern because this type of thing would not be in his nature." said Lt. Col William Fletcher.
By 3:00 on Thursday afternoon, there were seventy soldiers participating in the search along with EPS and fire rescue.
Master Cpl. Curnow has been with the military for 7 years. He has served two terms in Afghanistan.
