Owners of 'ground zero' home identified
Global News has learned the names of the owners of the home at the centre of Sunday's explosion. 46-year-old Dwayne Poirier, and 47-year-old Jeanne Heard reportedly owned the home that blew up Sunday afternoon, killing four people.
Brad Winter and Craig Huber who lived in the house next door to the blast site have been identified by friends and family as two of the victims, but there has been no confirmation that Poirier or Heard were killed in the explosion.
Autopsies have been performed on the four victims of the blast, but police are not releasing a cause of death at this time. “There are a number of other investigative tasks that are required and so we are not in a position to release any information on the investigation.” said Edmonton police Insp. Darren Eastcott said on Wednesday.
Police have said that the deaths are considered suspicious.
“The event itself was suspicious. Not every house blows up like that so we have to look at all the circumstances surrounding it.” Eastcott said.
The cause of the blast is still under investigation.
