The case of a missing Edmonton couple has now been turned over to the Edmonton Police Homicide Unit. Perry Kit, 72, and his common-law wife Eloise Fendelet, 71, have not been seen since December 27, 2010 in West Edmonton.
Co-workers began a search for the couple when they didn't return to work on January 3, 2011. When they were unable to turn up anything, the contacted police. The couple has officially been listed as missing since January 18, 2011.
“The investigation hasn’t come to us for any other reason other than it is a natural progression when all normal investigative channels by the Missing Persons Unit have been exhausted. What we can say is that we consider the couple’s disappearance to be suspicious.” Detective Dale Johnson of the EPS Homicide Section said in a written release.
Police reported back in January that all of the couple's vehicles are accounted for, and there has been no unusual activity on their bank records since December 27th. The disappearance is considered out of character for the couple.
Despite the fact that the investigation has now moved to the Homicide Unit, police say there are no new developments in the case.
