The family of Brad and Krista Howe have released a statement following the deaths of the couple in a fatal traffic collision on Sunday.

In the statement issued on Tuesday, the family touches on their own grief and what will become of the couple's five children.

"Brad and Krista were very devoted and caring parents and will be greatly missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing them. Family members are dealing with the loss as well as expected. Extended family is currently arriving from various locations across North America. Brad and Krista's five children, ranging in age from four to 14, are being cared for by their aunts, uncles and grandparents." The statement said.

The family also stated that a Memorial Service will be held in Brad and Krista Howe's honor on Friday February 12 at one p.m. in Red Deer at the Harvest Center located in Westerner Park at 4847A 19th Street.

A trust fun has also been established to help the couple's children. The Brad & Krista Howe Memorial Trust Fund has been set up at the Foam Lake Credit Union in Saskatchewan-the family says that those wishing to donate can drop off donations at any credit union in Alberta or Saskatchewan.

Brad and Krista Howe were killed at 2 a.m. Sunday morning when their southbound car was struck by an eastbound pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck, 22-year old Chad Olsen was arrested and charged with two counts of Impaired Driving Causing Death among other charges.

Olsen will appear in Red Deer provincial court on Monday.
