Explosion at AB well site injures 12

RCMP has confirmed that there has been an explosion at a Husky sweet gas site 37 km southwest of Edson near Robb, Alberta.
The emergency call came in at 11:45 am on Monday morning.
The latest reports from the RCMP suggest that 12 people have been injured. STARS Air Ambulance responded to the scene, and three people were transported to a burn unit in Edmonton. None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.
The Edson Fire Department also responded to the scene and put out the fire.
RCMP is investigating, and Occupational Health and Safety has been advised of the incident.
A spokesperson from the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) says he does not know what activities the workers at the site were engaged in when the explosion happened, but no chemicals were released at the site.
The incident is the third in the area in less than a week.
On Friday, March 4th the ERCB was called to investigate a fire at a sour gas well site 11 km southwest of Lodgepole. The fire started at 10:20 on Friday morning, and was extinguished at 3:30 am on Saturday, March 5th.
There were no injuries during that incident, and the ERCB says there was no danger to the public.
On Saturday, March 5th, a 32-year-old woman was killed in an industrial accident at an oil lease site, near Pine Creek in Yellowhead County.
Alberta Health and Safety is now investigating the incident on Saturday.
