Police have confirmed that a body found Sunday near Redwater is that of missing Edmonton based Master Cpl. Richard Curnow.

Curnow's body was found in the North Saskatchewan River, which runs through the area.

An autopsy has been performed, and investigators say Curnow's death is not suspicious in nature.

The cause of death is not being released.

His remains were identified through dental records.

Curnow was in the Edmonton river valley on a training run with a group of soldiers when he disappeared on May 5th.

Family and friends as well as complete strangers gathered to search the river valley after Curnow vanished.

Curnow, who was 25, had served with the Canadian military since he was 18 years old.

Redwater is northeast of Edmonton.
