A woman has been hospitalized after falling from her burning fourth four apartment suite.

The fire broke out around 10:15 Monday morning. Crews were able to bring the blaze under control, but the woman's suite was gutted and most of the floor suffered severe smoke damage.

One man was rescued from the fire by an Epcor worker who happened to be working in the area.

Earlier Monday morning crews were called to a fire at a home west of Edmonton.

Fire crews were called around 6:30am, and when they arrived the found flames shooting from the roof.

It is not clear how the fire started, but investigators believe it started in the attic.
