Search underway at Wabamun Lake

Tubing at Wabamun Lake turned into a rescue mission for three men on Saturday after their tire tube flipped over around noon.

Two of the men were rescued and treated for hypothermia. But the search for one of them continues, with both rescue and civilians boats, as well as an RCMP helicopter chopper aiding efforts.

Because of how cold the water is, RCMP say time is critical. They're not giving up, though.

"We won't be ceasing our search until we either find this individual or darkness and weather prevent it from continuing, and it will be an ongoing operation until we find this fellow," says Sgt. Ian Gillan of Stony Plain RCMP.

Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors. The fact that the man was not wearing a life jacket, however, is.
