EDMONTON - It was just last week that Republican candidate Mitt Romney unveiled his energy plan, which some say may have been a bit light on detail, but it was heavy on Alberta oil.

Romney echoed past statements by reinforcing his promise to approve the Keystone XL pipeline if elected.

He also spoke about North American, not just U.S. oil independence and said he would see an energy partnership with Canada.

"Canada has oil sands - we're going to take advantage of those and build that Keystone pipeline and work with Canada to make sure we have advantage of their great energy sources." Romney said.

Donald Trump offered his support for Romney's energy policy this morning, tweeting "@barackobama sent over 100,000 jobs and Canadian oil to China all because he would not approve Keystone XL"

The Republican National Convention takes place in Tampa this week, but the convention's schedule could change, depending on the path Isaac takes.
