Police are urging motorists in and around Edmonton to be cautious and slow down, due to poor road conditions.

Blowing snow, freezing temperatures, and icy roads made for poor driving conditions in the capital region, Saturday afternoon.

Traffic on Yellowhead Trail was backed up for a period of time as emergency crews responded to a number of collisions.

"We've had about three rollover collisions on the Yellowhead between 82nd Street and 17th Street. We're just cautioning drivers to slow down and drive to the conditions," explained Constable Ryan Katchur, EPS.

Officers say no one was seriously injured, only minor injuries were reported.

Leduc RCMP are also warning motorists of very poor conditions on Highway 2, from Edmonton to Wetaskiwin.

RCMP have implemented a ban on towing anything behind your vehicle on the highway, until conditions improve.
