Tornado touches down near Sundre

Environment Canada has just confirmed a tornado has touched down near the James River Bridge, 10 kilometres west of Sundre.
It is travelling in a Southeast direction at about 25 kilometres an hour. Witnesses are watching it as it moves along the QE 2. So far no injuries have been reported, and there are no reports about what kind of damage has been caused.
Global Edmonton Ground Force member Jae Robbins was camping near Sundre and gave us this account on the phone.
"We were in my cousin's trailer, and she looked and she said what is that? We could see the funnel cloud coming out of the wall cloud and it touched the ground." Robbins said. "I ran to get my camera, and by the time I got my camera the cloud had gone back up, but the debris was swirling below."
Other areas could be affected by the weather activity and were under tornado warning.
It is unusual for Environment Canada to confirm a tornado touchdown so quickly, but it is believed that numerous eyewitness accounts helped speed up the process.
Sundre is about 120 kilometres northwest of Calgary.
