Paul McCartney to perform in Edmonton

The official announcement of a "major historical concert event" is scheduled to be made at 11 a.m., but it looks like Live Nation has stolen the thunder. According to its website, Paul McCartney will be performing at Rexall on November 28th.

Mayor Stephen Mandel is still set to reveal the big news, along with Richard Andersen, the President and CEO of Northlands, and Geoff Robins, the Vice President of Live Nation Canada.

On Thursday, Live Nation Canada released little information about the event, saying only that it would be historic, and that prompted hundreds of predictions from music fans.

Now, according to its website, the pre-sale will begin September 13th, with tickets ranging from $37.77 - $274.27.

The most common guesses so far on who the performer would be have been Sir Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones. Hundreds of Global Edmonton viewers were weighing in on our Facebook page, suggesting acts from Celine Dion, One Direction, to AC/DC and Led Zeplin.
