ST. ALBERT- One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision in St. Albert.
The crash happened around 8:20 Saturday night, at the intersection of St. Albert Tail and Hebert Road.
RCMP say a southbound vehicle was turning left onto Hebert Road when it collided with a vehicle heading north.
One person died as a result of the collision. Another person was taken to hospital with unknown injuries. RCMP would not say which person was in which vehicle at the time of the collision.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collision.
"At this point we don't know whether speed or alcohol was a factor. The investigation is ongoing," said Constable Janice Schoepp with St. Albert RCMP.
The victim's identity had not yet been released.
"The deceased person has not yet been positively identified," Schoepp said Saturday night.
