Officials are advising motorists heading northwest of Edmonton to avoid Highways 43 from Whitecourt to DeBolt and Highway 49 from Valleyview to Donnelly due to blizzard conditions.
Just after 4 p.m. on Thursday, RCMP were called to Highway 43 east of Grande Prairie after a crash involving a Greyhound bus, multiple big trucks and a number of other vehicles.
There are no reports of any injuries at this time.
Road conditions are said to be extremely poor because of bad visibility due to heavy snowfall. The public is asked to avoid travel in that direction until the weather and collision are cleared up.
Conditions are anticipated to improve by approximately 8 p.m.
