HALIFAX - More than a dozen people were blocking a Canadian National rail line in rural Nova Scotia as part of the Idle No More protests.
About 20 aboriginals from the Millbrook First Nation placed wooden palettes and a car on the track in Truro at about 1 p.m.
Chief Bob Gloade says the blockade of passenger and freight trains that travel through the reserve's land was planned for between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
CN spokesman Jim Feeny said it was talking with aboriginal organizers over their plans to block the trains in an effort to keep lines open.
Gloade says the blockade is sanctioned by the band council and is part of a growing wave of protests and blockades organized by the Idle No More movement.
Via Rail couldn't be reached for comment on whether afternoon passenger train service will be affected.
