Jennifer Crosby starts her day at 4 am, teaming up with Shaye Ganam to head the Morning News on Global Edmonton, our city's most-watched morning newscast. Jennifer and Shaye return later in the day to anchor the Noon News Hour ranked number one news in its time slot.

A natural "morning person," she enjoys hitting the ground running each day and the camaraderie the Morning News team enjoys with viewers. "There is something special about this time of day," she says, "You're bringing the folks at home the news they need to know as they're waking up. We send them on their way armed with the latest knowledge about what's happening in our world - and hopefully we put a smile on their faces too."

Prior to joining the Global Edmonton team, Jennifer anchored the evening news from BC’s capital, Victoria. She also worked as a producer, reporter and host for a half-hour primetime special on the local food movement, "You Are Where You Eat ," and hosted live televised coverage of landmark public events like the Victoria Day and Santa's Light parades. Earlier postings took her to small-town Northern BC as a videographer, morning radio anchor, and host of a TV current affairs program. She credits her work on "To the Point, with Jennifer Crosby" with honing her interviewing and adlibbing skills. Here in Edmonton, she counts among the highlights: a two-part special report on education behind bars - gaining rare access to the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre's Tri-centre, where inmates are enrolled in a variety of classes, co-hosting federal election coverage alongside Gord Steinke, and an exclusive interview with Kevin Costner from inside a private jet.

Jennifer volunteers her time and talents for a number of local and international organizations. These include the 1000 Women: One Million Possibilities Initiative benefitting Norquest College students, the Aga Khan Foundation Canada and its World Partnership Walk, the YMCA, and Global Edmonton's own Give Me Shelter campaign for area women's shelters. She has also hosted the Eskimo Women's Dinner with her friend and colleague Nicola Crosbie, judged the Miss Rodeo Canada speaking competition, been a guest bartender for Movember raising funds to fight prostate cancer, and emceed the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Alberta Winter Games and the Downtown Holiday Light-Up.

In her spare time Jennifer enjoys cooking and visiting Edmonton's many fantastic restaurants. Jennifer also has a passion for writing. Her written work has appeared in a number of publications, including the Edmonton Journal's Taste Alberta Food Section, and The Tomato Food and Drink. Her latest assignment was to transport readers to Victoria's thriving brunch tradition - combining two of her passions: writing and good food.

Jennifer is the recipient of a 2007 Visionaries Under 40 award for media and publishing. She holds a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from BCIT and a Bachelors of Anthropology from the University of Victoria.
