Traveling in southwest Edmonton will now be a little easier, thanks to two interchanges on Anthony Henday Drive opening up to traffic on Friday.

The Henday interchange at Callingwood Road opened Friday at 4pm, and the Stony Plain Road is opening at 6 p.m.

Both have been in the works since 2009, with the Stony Plain project, which includes 7 bridges, being completed a year ahead of schedule.

Clean-up is still continuing in the area so the province is advising motorists to use caution and obey all signs and message boards.
