EDMONTON - If you're planning on being out Saturday night, you may want to be extra careful.

Roads and sidewalks will likely be quite slick as a warm front is set to move through Alberta this evening and overnight, bringing freezing rain to much of north central Alberta, including the city of Edmonton.

According to Environment Canada, the rain is expected to start in Grande Prairie early Saturday evening, then move southeast to the Edmonton area.

"It looks like we can pick up a bit of precipitation, of course, with the ice already on the ground that makes things a little treacherous," says Global specialist Kevin O'Connell.

"But, warming up (Sunday) to about 7 degrees or so which puts us in really good shape heading into the next couple days with temperatures sitting about 16 degrees above normal for this time of the year."
