Erin Chalmers was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and is proud of "Our City". Since graduating from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology), she has worked as an anchor and reporter in all three Prairie provinces, eventually making her way back home to Edmonton in 2008.

After returning from maternity leave, Erin became the lead reporter on Global Edmonton's #1 Morning News and Noon News Hour. It's an early shift but one she says she loves because it allows her to have more time with her son.

In 2011, Erin was recognized with a National (RTNDA) Award for her continuing coverage of Maddox Flynn, a young Edmonton boy with cystic hygroma, a rare birth defect that causes a growth to form in the head and neck area. Her reporting won the hearts of Edmontonians and Canadians and was later featured on Global News' 16X9.

Meeting new people every day and telling their story is Erin's favorite part of the job. Her biggest goal is to provide the information people need and hopefully make a difference in their life and/or the lives of others.

Her and her husband Chris married in 2009 and welcomed their son, Logan, in January 2011. Her spare time is spent with family and friends... with hopes of golfing more in the summer, and skiing more in the winter.
