Claresholm triple-murder survivor Shayna Conway speaks

Shayna Conway;the lone-survivor of a triple-murder near Claresholm in December 2011.

The lone survivor of a vicious triple-murder near Claresholm spoke publicly for the first time, this weekend.

Tabitha Stepple, Tanner Craswell and Mitch MacLean - all in their early 20s - were gunned down by Stepple's jealous ex-boyfriend on a dark highway Dec. 15. Derek Jensen then killed himself.

Shayna Conway is still recovering in a Calgary hospital, but made her way to Lethbridge to attend a memorial service for the victims on Saturday.

Speaking in a pre-recorded message, Shayna says she is doing well but looking forward to going home to PEI.

The young woman wore a neck brace while speaking, extending her deepest sympathies to the families of the three young victims.

The service, which was live-streaming on the Internet, was structured like a baseball game, with special tributes to the victims during each of nine "innings."

Craswell and MacLean were promising baseball players from Prince Edward Island and had been training with the Lethbridge Bulls.

About 1,500 people are attending the service.
