Charges laid in connection with mall stabbing

Edmonton police have charged four people in relation to a stabbing that happened at a Mill Woods shopping mall on St. Patrick's Day.

Just after 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17 police were called to Mill Woods Town Centre, located at 23 Avenue and 66 Street, after getting reports of a fight.

The fight broke out between two groups of people in the food court. Police say an 18 year old male was allegedly stabbed by a member of the other group.

21 year old Allen Michael Quintal, along with two 14 year old males and a 16 year old male face a number of charges including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.

Police say the two groups are not known to each other and they believe this was a random incident.
