VANCOUVER - RCMP officers from Project E-PANA will be holding a news conference in Surrey on Tuesday morning to reveal details of a murder investigation that involves police from Canada and the United States.
The investigation is focusing on the cases of 18 murdered women, at least one of whom is believed to have been the victim of a serial killer. The suspect is believed to have travelled across Canada and the West Coast of the United States over the past three or four decades.
He may have spent time in jail in the United States and would now be in his early 60s, however it's believed he died in prison in 2006.
Several women have been killed along B.C. Highways 16, 97 and 5 over the past few decades..
Police are telling Global News the families whose daughters’ cases are part of this investigation have all been notified of this latest development.
At the news conference in Surrey, Police will be asking for "assistance from British Columbians, Canadians and Americans". Officers from E-PANA will also be talking about the case Wednesday in Kamloops, and Prince George.
