Alberta's 4 major party leaders all win their seats

The four major party leaders will take their place in the Legislature after winning their ridings in the Alberta election.

Premier Alison Redford was the first leader to retain their seat. She's represented Calgary-Elbow since 2008.

Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith has won in the riding Highwood. It's the first trip to the legislature for the former journalist and spokesperson for the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.

Liberal Leader Raj Sherman was in a tight fight in his Edmonton-Meadowlark riding. Sherman and Conservative Bob Maskell traded the lead several times before pulling out a slim win of just 118 votes.

The NDP's Brian Mason easly won his Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood seat.

Alberta party leader Glenn Taylor failed in his bid for a seat finishing third.
