The homicide victim discovered during the Entheos festival near Boston Bar has been identified.
Bradley Dean Ross, 25, of Grande Prairie, Alberta was found dead in a tent Sunday afternoon.
The man was discovered at about 3 p.m. at the Sandy Pines campground, about 16 km north of Boston Bar, the site of the festival, which had drawn about 1,000 people.
"The scene will take some time to process," Integrated Homicide Investigation Team spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Pound said in a release, "as there are over 1,000 people in attendance. Investigators will be at the scene for several days looking to identify all of the attendees and Entheos event staff."
Ambulance crews pronounced the man dead at the scene, and there were early unconfirmed reports he had been stabbed.
The Upper Fraser Valley regional RCMP detachment called in IHIT, which took over the investigation.
Police said Ross had met with foul play. A police helicopter, dog handlers and forensic identification experts were called to the scene.
Police said Sunday they had no suspects at that point, but campsite owner Robert Walters said eight to 10 officers had set up a checkpoint on the camp-site's access road and planned to log and inter-view every person leaving the grounds.
"They are taking every-one's info," he said. "They're trying to get the general campers out first, that's a little over 1,000 people, then you've got about 200 crew and volunteers that will start heading out. But it will be a long process. I'm thinking it may be onwards into Tuesday. It's a big lineup and a slow process."
