Sentence for Mountie involved in assault put over to April

Sandboe will have to wait until April to find out his sentence.

An Alberta RCMP officer will have to wait until April to find out his sentence for viciously beating a man who had been arrested.
Shocking video surfaed showing Lac La Biche RCMP Const. Desmond Sandboe beating Andrew Clyburn at the Lac La Biche detachment on Sept. 13, 2009.
The video showed Sandboe grabbing Clyburn, who is then smashed against a wall, taken to the floor and punched repeatedly.
Clyburn had originally been picked up for public intoxication and fighting at a Lac La Biche bar.
Sandboe was scheduled to be sentenced Monday, however, his lawyer told the court his client was not available.
The decision on sentencing is now set over to April 13.
