Slav Kornik has a variety of roles at Global Edmonton. He's a news reporter and producer and helps in the sports department, reporting and anchoring on occasion. Slav joined the Global Edmonton team on a permanent basis in March of 2010.
Slav attended the NAIT Radio & Television program where he graduated in April of 2005. Following graduation Slav moved to Lloydminster where he was hired at Newcap News as a videographer. A few months in to his stint at Newcap, Slav became the late night sports anchor.
After a year and a half in Lloyd, Slav made the move to Red Deer where he was hired as the weekend sports anchor and reporter at CHCA News. Later, Slav became the sports director. During that time he also helped out at Global Edmonton, filling in as the weekend sports anchor. After three years in Red Deer, Slav was thrilled to move back to Edmonton in early 2010 to work with a great team at Global.
Slav has always been involved in sports and continues to do so, playing on a local men's basketball team. Slav is also happily married and enjoys spending time with his wife and two bulldogs.
