Vinesh is Global Edmonton's go-to court reporter, having covered numerous cases over the years. He says "We have a court system that is open to the public, still not a lot of people understands what goes on. I hope through my reporting I can gove our viewers that understanding, and at the same time provide a voice to the victims and their families." Vinesh has also had a chance to cover a variety of other stories from the serious to the more light-hearted. "One day you can be asking the Premier some tough questions, the next you're a few metres away from Queen Elizabeth the Second."
Vinesh says the most memorable stories are when he gets to meet everyday people who are willing to share what's happening to them. "It's a privilage when people are willing to let us into their homes and their lives for a few moments, even if it might be about a difficult issue."
Vinesh Pratap has been at Global Edmonton since 2004. He came back to Edmonton after working across the province in Lloydminster, Medicine Hat and then 2.5 years at Global Lethbridge. Getting a job at Global Edmonton has been a dream come true for this born and raised Edmontonian. "I remember watching ITV News growing up, and would think about how much fun it would be to work there."
Vinesh is proud to call Edmonton home.
